In order to significantly increase the health workforce, the Government of Rwanda launched the 4x4 Reform in early 2023. The 4x4 Reform sets a goal of quadrupling the production of healthcare workers in the next four years (2023-2028) to bring Rwanda closer to WHO recommended targets on healthcare worker density. This requires the expansion of faculties in universities and enhancement of training capacities. The MOH aims to increase faculty by enrolling experienced faculty members who can contribute to the strengthening of the health sector in Rwanda in various training programs, such as medicine, nursing, midwifery, pharmacy, dentistry, and allied health sciences.
