The Pharmacy Task Force is responsible for the protection of the population by supervising the effectiveness and the quality of pharmaceutical product and to make sure whether they are available at national level and well used.
Major responsibilities
- Coordinates activities related to the implementation of the pharmaceutical policy
- Prepares laws and orders related to the functioning of the pharmaceutical practice
- Sets up the instructions governing pharmaceutical institutions
- To supervise the establishment of pharmaceutical institutions
- To organize the inspection as well as the supervision of pharmaceutical institutions
- Ensures of the standardization and the quality of pharmaceutical product that come within Rwandan territory(registration, visa, authorization of importation, custom check up)
- supervises the implementation of international conventions regarding drugs and other pharmaceutical substances
- Provides pharmaceutical information to Health professionals as well as to the public (LNDE, F.N, GTS) ;
- Sets up cooperation with other national, regional and international institutions involved in supplying and controlling pharmaceutical products.
