Rulindo residents get a hospital

A foundation stone for the construction of Kinihira Hospital in Rulindo District was laid last Tuesday 13 July 2010 by the Minister of Health Dr. Richard SEZIBERA.
Adressing Kinihira residents, the Minister told them that Government is doing its best to put in place the necessary infrastructures to help them access quality services and urged them on proper use and maintenance of these infrastructures. He reminded them that the hospital is a fulfillment of a promise by his Excellence the President of the Republic Paul Kagame and urged them to work hard and achieve what they pledged to achieve in their performance contracts (Imihigo).
The Minister commended Rulindo residents for their achievements regarding family planning and subscription to Mutuelles and urged them to fight killer diseases such as HIV/AIDS and malaria.  He also urged the population on proper hygiene and fighting malnutrition for better health.
The Governor of Northern Province, Mr Bosenibamwe Aimé urged Rulindo residents to work hard to get out of poverty and be able to build suitable houses.
The construction of Rulindo Hospital with 200 beds for a budget of about 4, 012, 994, 354 Frw is funded by the Government of Rwanda and is expected to be completed next year.
The Minister of Health accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Health and local leaders continued his tour to Burera District where work is underway to construct Butaro Hospital to see the progress.
